Hey guys,
Just joined, and this looks like a great place for info.
I just bought my first boat, a 76 Regatta ski boat, with a mid 70s Evinrude 135HP outboard. The motor is in good shape, and so is the boat.

My problem is the control box is pretty much shot. It is an Evinrude Power Pilot control. It was very stiff at first, and finally just locked up pretty much solid. I took it apart, and it looks like the gear attached to the gearshift cable is worn very badly, and it locks the throttle rocker gear assembly from returning back to neutral when it is put at its full range either forward or reverse. (I hope that makes sense, I can try and clarify). Anyways, there isn't really any way to repair it that I can come up with, so I'd like to just replace the whole throttle control box.

What year/make/model/type control box is compatible with this setup? I just need a cheap used one in good shape to replace this. There is only 2 cables in it, (throttle and gear shift fwd/rvs), and the ignition switch wiring.

Thanks!

Evan

in the 3rd picture you see the big red plug. any control JonnyRudeOMC, with the harness that has the big red plug will work for that engine. nice clean engine.
