michigan weather

Here in michigan it has been pretty nice latley but the weather is unperdictable. one week 60-70's next week mid 30's. i want to take my boat out to go fishing. my question is can i just drain the water out of the block if michigan has a freeezing night?

Ayuh,... So long as you drain ALL the water out, No problem...

Some of the pink stuff is pretty easy to add, as well. Since the OP didn't bother telling us what boat or motor, I'll say four hose clamps and you're done.

I know, it was 80 here on Sunday and they are saying 42-32 and rain for this Saturday, I wish it woud just be spring already.

I don't think it gets cold enough for long enough to really hurt anything, it is only really cold for a coupler hours then starts to warm again, I think you would need an entire day of sub32 to have a problem.

It's an expensive lesson to learn if you're wrong... Just drain it and sleep better.

I have an older mercruiser and it takes me less than 5 min to drain the block. It takes less time than washing down the hull. You dont need to do a full winterization. Just get the water out. Its not worth the risk.
