MICHIGAMME LAKE

I am headed to Iron Mountain, MI this evening for a few days of fishing. Looks like I'll try Michigamme Lake first. Looking for some good muskie & pike fishing. May try to get a mess of walleye also to bring back for fish fry (wife's birthday party 7/7/01). Does anyone have any fishing experience in this part of the u.p. There are a lot of lakes in this area and don't have time to hit them all. Thanks for any info.

Howdy, Jdenton. Since you're going to be in that part of the country, I suggest giving the Hayward, WI area a shot. About ten miles down the road from Hayward is Stone Lake, WI and Big Sissabagama lake. Good Muskie and Walleye lake. Haven't fished there in about 20 years, but there were no snakes in it the (Northern Pike).<br /><br />On our way to LOTW today for a week on the greatest fishin' hole on the planet.<br /><br />Keep your line wet.<br />JB
