Me neither and there have been several posts on the 57-59 35hp engines too. I'm probably wrong but I thought I say a post where he was going somewhere for a little while.

Nah. I've just been really busy for the past couple of weeks. I'll try to get back in the swing of the forum!

Hey Catransplant,
Im from the south bay area and also lived in the placerville area. Wondering if it was as hard for you to learn to fish in MN.? Any pointers as Im still learning here but making progress. I do miss all the fishing and boating diversity back home but I love it here too. Anyways thanks for the help on past questions Ive posted, theyve helped a lot.
Glen

Re: MIA - CATransplant

Glen,

It's been different, fishing here in MN. I did mostly inshore saltwater fishing back in California, so it's a different animal.

But...I've done OK for my first year. I'm working on catching all the species here in Minnesota. So far, I've managed:

Northern Pike
Largemouth Bass
Smallmouth Bass
White Bass
Black Crappie
Sunfish
Yellow Perch
Channel Catfish
Walleye
Sauger
Sheepshead (freshwater drum)

I'm still hunting for a Muskie.

The season's just about over for me. I'm hoping to get the boat in the water a couple of times in October, but things are a little busy around here, and I haven't had lots of time.

I'm fishing primarily smaller lakes, but have also been in the St. Croix River and have shorefished in several other waters, including the Mississippi. There's a great public fishing dock in Saint Paul in the Harriet Island city park, with some fine catfish fishing. I saw some really big carp there, too, but haven't fished for them yet.
