Dont think Santa would get me these so I ebay'd em for 31.00 including free shipping.

Think he has more, since there is another set up for grabs with a new expiration date

I have been eyeing those as well. Those sure would spiff up these old boats.

verrrry nice! but them's out of my bottom feeder league....i may try coating mine (plastic inserts only) in the rubberized dip coating sold for tool handles and see how they come out. probably crappy but then they'll match the rest of the Holiday.

Re: Merry Christmas to me!lol

So you were the one bidding against me! :p
Mr r***c eh!

Glad to hear they went to a good home, once you hit $31, I figured if all else fails I would just clean mine up and make a nice wood insert or something. :)

Ever make a plaster mold before? ;)

I think a bunch of people around here could use new plastic/rubber inserts :D

In art class we made molds all the time, then poured a rubber mix in, could also work with an epoxy (that was my plan for them).

I have done sand castings with molten aluminum waaay back in shop class...That was a long time ago thank God.
I would be willing to look at making rubber castings for the Starmada..

Plaster is fun stuff, but not to cheap.

And my nephew has some play sand, I forget the brand name... but it's the same stuff from shop class with fun colors! :p

I thought about making a mold and pouring some copper into it, but my sis was not to thrilled. ;)

Re: Merry Christmas to me!lol

I looked into making castings of my "fair" condition step pads. Consulted a sculpture professor. The numerous cracks would make a mold with all of them in it and possibly ruin the originals. So I did not proceed. But with new ones that would not be a problem. The plastic mold technology has advanced greatly as far as ease of use goes but in my research I could not find a product for the final casting that was UV resistant. That was a couple years ago. I bet the Starmada would like to have nice new replacement parts.

Go for it Kev.

I watched those too, didn't bid though, and in the end, decided not to get them because they would encourage gunwale-stepping!
