Just finished putting back together after overhaul of my 1989 XR4. It starts immediately and idles fine for about 20 seconds and then fuel begins flowing out ALL of the front of the carbs. Have tried with another set of carbs, reset the float levels and still the same problem no matter what changes I make. Any suggestions???

No response? Do you have a stock fuel pump or some electrical fuel pump on her? Electrical fuel pumps can flood the carbs easily with their higher pressure.

If stock pump, it is time to clean the carbs, install new gaskets inlet needles and seats and new floats if you can get 'em. Set the floats to factory heights.
