Does anybody know if a 1996 40hp Mercury tilt and trim bracket etc fit on a 1987 Mercury 35hp ? Not worried about the wiring, just if it will bolt up.

doubt it. Not counting Force 70 & 75HP 1988 was the first year i know of that mercury ised the single ram system on any of their engines. look up part number for kingpin on both engines and see if they are the same.
