Hi all, a couple of things, I'm rewiring my 220xri outboard motor, as at various points during its life its been played with and has had various repairs etc done to it.

Firstly I want to replace all the rubber terminal caps as mine are looking tired, Can anyone help me locate a suitable supply of these? All the ones I can find seem to be a too large.

Secondly, I'm after some high quality 'ring' crimp terminals for the same job. If they also have a heat shrink adhesive cover then even better!

I'm used to doing this kind of thing for automotive applications, but I want to get this right for marine too.

Thanks!

Any thoughts on this? Hoping someone will know something I don't :)

All those items can be had at your local Merc dealer. Some caps and covers are specific to the engine, things like wire connector covers for bullet connectors are found in the Merc accessory catalog. Some caps are only sold as part of the wiring harness.

Hmm, was worried that may be the case. I was hoping someone may have found a 3rd party alternative that does the same job.

Try www.delcity.net they are mainly automotive, but have begun to stock more marine items as their website shows they are members of the NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association I think)
They now have a good selection of heat shrinkable tubing in 4 ft. lengths in all the sizes you'd ever need. They also stock the tubing with the sealant inside that distributes itself as the tubing shrinks. DelCity stocks 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 shrink tubes. I've used this on the underside of my pontoon boat run inside convoluted tubing with slits for drainage. Going on 7 years since the first work and not one ounce of trouble. Look through the website and you'll find all sorts of ring terminals including the ones with a heat shrink jacket.
I don't mean to sound like a DelCity commercial, but they have what I need at reasonable prices and are willing to ship FedEx billed to my account.
