I recently purched a 50 hp Mercury mid 1980s that hasn't got the Lowering rams/shockers. It is a manual tilt and the local outboard wreckers/breakers do not have them.I was told they are scare as hens teeth.<br />And Mercury don't service this part any more .<br />I checked http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...nbr=275&bnbr=150&bdesc=CLAMP+BRACKET+ASSEMBLY <br />And there is a picture of a large spring and in the listing is reference to W/O shock absorber.<br />is it possible the this spring replaced the shock aborber on my model?<br />I am still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my repair manual in the post.<br />Thanks all
