I thought someone could ad a bit of insight as to why water comes out one sides of the engine just above the lower unit. Alot of the water you see is draining from the yoke when i use the ears muffs. is this normal??

Might be me but how are you gettin' water to it? Looks like tha one side intake holes are wide open? Muffs should cover both sides. There should never be water discharge from motor mount area.........if that's what we're seein'?

It will do that running it on hose thru the flushing port.....

Take your word on that 'cause I"ve never used flush port on an "opti", but..........

Glad ya brought that up FB. I've been told by both supposedly "tech graduates and hot rod gurus" not ta run it on tha flusher and/or at idle only??? I do know that earlier production "Offshore" (salt water motors, SALT being tha reason for tha flusher anyway) it was a no-no ta even start it on tha flusher. So are tha "opti's different? Really don't care either way, just curious now...........

Havin' a hard time believin' any water should exit anywhere around tha mounts. Tha whole "mount area" should be a solid, separate space in tha down housing with tha actual mount "clamped" into place........I would pull tha cover off, have a look with it runnin'. Check tha 4 bolts holding tha "clamp" over tha actual mount......

took bottom unit off, looked inside saw a small overflow hole on that side only.....so i guses it there to allow water to flow out when bottom unit is full...I am getting mixed replies from many sources....some say its normal with the use of the hose on ears, some say this should not happen....Still not sure.... engine runs fine good pee stream for cooling around 4 water pressure at idle.. there is also a hole at the impeller area that water came come out from so it is possiable that the hose creates too much water and it has to come out somewhere..i would like to be sure thou. dont want any issues down the road.

Did ya take tha COVER OFF and run it?. Think 1 screw. That whole area under it with tha 4 bolts, clamp and motor mount should be solid. There should be no opening of any kind into tha down housing or any where else. Have you tried it with "regular muffs only". No hose to tha flusher? Don't know why it would make any difference. Its all tha same coolin' system. Just flowin' it backwards. I haven't dealt with that many 3.0 motors but always ran on muffs only (no flusher) and never saw water from tha mount area. That would, like you, get my attention!...........jmo
