Hi all,
I have a 2008 Mercury Four Stroke EFI 100hp my problem seems to be the fuel doesnt run smoothly to the injectors, whilst priming VST the fuel pick up pump runs for approx 5 seconds and turns off, engine starts fine and runs on the muffs for 10mins or so before it starts to run lumppy and nearly cuts out, my 1st thought was the pick up fuel punp not sucking in enough fuel to the VST so i replaced with a new one, after instaling new pump i primed VST again which only lasted approx 5 seconds before the pick up fuel pump stopped, i did this several times just to make sure the VST was full, i disconnected the high preasure fuel hose that runs along side of engine and turned on key but no fuel came out, i repeatedly primed the VST so the pick up pump run its cycle, after several attempts fuel started to spit out of the hose, after a short while it did eventualy have a constant stream of fuel coming out, reconnected high preassure hose started engine again and ran smoothly for approx 10mins before running lumpy again, disconnected high preassure hose turned on key and no fuel coming through, repeat the above process to get the steady stream of fuel again.....Any thoughts suggestions what the problem could be.
Thanks
Andy
