Blackie, I recently puchased a new 2002 Optimax 150 . I can't tell you yet how it holds up as it is still too new. I can tell you that I am very pleased with the performance and gas consumption so far. It is broken in and starts easily and quickly. Acceleration is seemless and strong. I actually get about the same milage as I used to get with an old 40h.p. carburated 2 Stroke that I had on a smaller boat. If it holds up I'll be very happy with this engine.
