mercury not pissing

i have a 2000 mercury 150 2 stroke xr6 carb motor i had an overheat issue at low speed so i changed the thermostats which were coroded and the impeller now the motor will not **** when hooked up to water hose to my hose connection in mid cowling. pressure builds up at the hose connection??????? first post help me out

Welcome aboard. Did it flow before the work? Bugs/wasps like to build nests in the tell-tell hose. Some weed whacker line can be shoved in there to clear the hose.

What shape muffs are you using? Don't know why but mine want work with the rectangle ones but the round ones work fine.

im directly connecting the water hose to my flush connection on my motor. and i have taken all the hoses apart especially the pisser and put them back together. anymore ideas

Was the old impeller intact or in pieces and missing chunks?

Just as Bellairbrian stated when I used my round muffs I could get water to flow, but when I used my square ones I could not

Are you starting the engine with the flusher attached?
