Mercury mid-1980s outboard 90hp Motor Lift Ring & Specs

Hey everyone,

I have a mid-1980s outboard Mercury 90hp. I have two questions for all of you out there:

1. Which size motor lift ring does it take? (I am going to be lifting the motor)

2. Does anyone know the general length of the motor, from its front to its back? I am trying to fit it in a space.

I should clarify the motor is 400 miles away and I am preparing for the trip and getting the proper tools and supplies, hence the questions, if I was there I could just tell myself...

It will take a standard lifting ring. You can find them on e-bay for a reasonable price. All the larger motors IL6-V6 use the same one.

I can measure my motor for you, if you clarify what measurement you want. Front to back? Not top to toe or side to side?
