Where is my best source to get a manual for a 1988 Mercury 90HP Oil Injection? Serial # 0B145614?

These aren't by chance online in some kind of format where I can download and print it out is it? Where is the best place to buy one? Thanks

Re: Mercury Manual

I may be able to offer a little bit of insight, as I went through the same thing with a 1980 Johnson. First I bought one of those generic one-size-fits-all manuals that sell for around $25 or $30. I was really displeased with that as there was a lot of information missing.

There are online stores that sell original factory manual reprints for about $65 to $70. One of those would be just fine, but I'm cheap and that seemed like a bit much.

Then someone here on iboats pointed me to an ebay store that happened to have the exact original factory manual I was looking for, and for only $30. That's the way to go if you can find your model year.

There are also a plethora of people on ebay selling manuals on CD for $10 or $15. I have no experience with those, but judging from the descriptions it sounds like they've just scanned the generic one-size-fits-all manuals. I may have to break down and give one of those a try though, as I'm currently looking for a manual for a 1973 Merc 7.5 HP.

Re: Mercury Manual

ya I tried a couple of the ebay scanned cd manuals, and some of the text isn't even legible

hold out for the old factory manuals on ebay if you can, no contest!

Re: Mercury Manual

I have searched all over the internet thinking that it ought to be online somewhere and that I could just download it but no luck.

I've been looking on ebay and all i can find is the cd version. I much rather have a book version but don't want to spend a fortune.

Re: Mercury Manual

Cusak,

I purchased one of the generic Merc Manuals for my Classic 50 and was very disappointed. It had good information, but not the specifics that I was looking for. I then purchased another generic Merc Manual by another well known publisher. Same results - good general information but not the specifics that I was looking for.

Finally I purchased a "Mercury" service manual. This one cost $71 but had all of the specifics about my motor - this was finally the manual that I was looking for. I purchased it from http://www.marinepartsman.com/Mercury-outboard-manuals_4.html

I am happy with this manual, and would be more than happy to sell you the other two if you are interested as I think that they are junk compared to the actual Mercury service manual.
