Re: Mercury made in China
It really breaks my heart to see so many American products now gone to the cheapest bidder overseas to build our products anymore. There are some questions concerning quality with some manufactures in China. We see near daily that some supposed to be quality products that we used to rely on have suspect nuts, bolts and whatever used to get-the-job-done from places exactly like China. They don't have the care or concern us Americans had with Built-in-America pride. Time will tell if those Mercury motors will last as long or have redundant problems leading to another American well thought of product fall by the way side... China will substitute metallurgy and bolt hardness grades with less quality ones to make that extra penny it seems. Grade eight bolts could be replaced with lower grades to get by for a few pennies in profit. Just look at the quality of products in the new these days from China. Are we Americans really getting a better deal or product, or just cheaper labor...?
