Mercury instrument install

We are trying to connect a Mercury SC1000 tach to our newer Mercury 75hp fourstroke outboard with 8M0176288 control. I know we need a junction box. It’s not clear whether other parts are required or how to connect everything. Anyone have more detailed instructions than arrived with the SC1000?

Maybe 84-879981T20 cable and 878492-4 junction box?

How do I get the cable into the motor housing? The connector is large And the cowling entry has a grommet seal.

Many time you have to remove the grommet
