Where is the idle speed adjustment on a 1999 150 HP Mercury carbeurated motor?

I'm not absolutely sure about 99 model, but on others it is on the Port side of the motor above and behind the shift and throttle cable about 3". I think 7/16" hex bolt with locking nut to sucure the position.

grandx, thanks for the info. I thought that was it, but just got the boat/motor a week ago and wanted to confirm. Just checked it out at lunch and there it was. I just need to increase a little. Thanks again.

Probably same spec as my 2, I think Idle speed in forward gear (in the water) should not exceed 850 RPM, it of course is higher on the trailer, wish I could tell you how much for sure. Something about it may not shift back to nuetral if 850 RPM is exceeded. Have tweeked mine in the past cause one or the other would tend to die in forward gear sometimes, but I still am under the 850 ceiling (I think).
