Hey guys, am looking for some help. I searched the forum but couldnt find much.

I have a 1969 mercury 80/800 series thunderbolt. I picked up a new gas tank at walsmart!, and a premaid fuel line. I noticed the new gas tank does not have a connection fitting on it and they didnt have anything to fit it.

What do I need and can u post me a picture please so I no what Im looking for locally.

Thank you

many new tanks come with out fittings,

You could use a standard hose barb. Get it an auto parts store. Cut off the tank end of the hose (double check before cutting)

And mini clamp it to the barb.

Attwood makes fittings you can use. For general information, for tower of power and V6 applications, stick with the metal Mercury bayonets. The plastic ones won't flow enough fuel and you could burn it down at WOT.

hope it helps
