Hi All <br /><br />Got this mercury classic from another boater recently it has a serial number 94 82 708, I was told it was a 50 HP, but how do you tell the manufactor year and the horsepower from that number ????<br />whats with the CLASSIC is it a anneversiry model or what ????<br />Where can I get a repair manual ????<br /><br />Hope someone can help<br /><br />have a great day<br /><br />Klaus from Denmark

Your motor is a 1987. The reason it is called "Clasic" is cause it uses the old style cowlings and although it says it's a 50, it's only putting out 45hp like the older 50's did.<br /><br />I hope that this answers your question.<br /><br />Craig
