mercury classic fifty 45hp engine parts

Hi all, New to this forum
I have what I believe to be a 1989 mercury classic fifty 45hp engine.
serial oB396007 hopefully I have the year correct.
I'm looking for the front cover ,the one that goes between the wrap around cowling.
Any Ideas where I might find this?
Havent had a boat in years,just thought it be a fun project.lol

Pretty much all the major parts (including the part you're looking for) are listed as obsolete. You can get the factory part number though. I think you're going to have to get lucky. Here in Minnesota we have a few places that specialize in older outboard parts. Twin City Outboard is one. You might give them a call.

I collect old merc faceplates and cowling and just buy them on ebay they come up all the time, just go to ebay motors,boat parts,and type in mercury faceplate. This is one I got last week, and the one I have on my boat.

Thanks guys!!
This old boat may become quite a project.
The transom will have to be rebuilt and some of the flooring.
Its a sylvan 16' profishman.
There will be more than the front plate to be addressed,didn't think parts
for this motor would be that much of a problem.
Might have to look into a newer motor.
