mercury 9.9 4 stroke tiller arm

I have a 2001 merc 9.9 4 stroke on my sailboat, but the problem is the tiller arm is against my fule locker in the center of the stern so you can't move the motor from port to starboard. is there anyway to move the tiller arm and throttle somewhere else???<br />thanks<br />brad

I haven't sailed in years but when I did the kicker motor was locked in position and I steered with the boats rudder.

the problem is the motor sits angled due to the tiller arm so when docking or at low speeds while motoring you go to port.
