mercury 9.8 hp .... water flows through but will not pee?

can run hose, water goes through, but when i put in barrel and run, will not pee? new impeller kit and parts installed. no difference... what should i be looking at.... Thanks in advance. Susie

Is the water level high enough? Pumps are not self priming and need to be completed submerged. 6” to 8” above the pump.

Serial # is ??----Is the water level 8" above the impeller?-----What did the old impeller look like?-----Did the motor suffer from severe overheat ?

Did you replace the grommet at the power head to copper tube joint?

Are you in a deep enough garbage can?
