Mercury 9.8 110 2-stroke impeller question

Hi All,
I have a 9.8 Mercury 110 2-stroke and I'm trying to replace the impeller. When I took the old one off, it appeared to be all rubber and it looks like there's a nut or something at the base of the shaft. I bought a new impeller kit but it doesn't seem to fit. Is there supposed to be a nut down there or is that part of the old impeller? Or am I buying the wrong kit? Serial number starts with 439.

The hub of the impeller is brass. It can get stuck on the drive shaft. That is probably what you are seeing. I had to cut one off on my 7.5 (basically the same motor).
