I’m working on my buddies 6horse merc 4 stroke and he couldn’t get it to start. The carb was a little dirty so I cleaned it, I’ve got a good fuel pump with fresh gas. There is the light that will flash when I pull the rope and the outboard will start then die and the light still flashes. Im assuming that’s an oil light for something. I’ve included a pic of the light. Is there possibly a wire I can unplug to disable that sensor that could possibly be causing it not to run. It’s got clean oil at the right level. There is a white wire and a brown wire on the coil and when I unplug both wires the light goes off. Im kinda at a loss with this little bastard and need some help.

That’s the oil light. Make sure the oil isn’t diluted with fuel (as they tend to do) and very thin or even overfilled, quite commonly.
These have a nasty habit of exchanging their fuel and oil via the carb…when sat on their side stored for anytime. Even when on the correct side !!
I think you might find that if you change that oil for new, making sure it’s very precisely at or no more than the specified shown on the sight glass (definitely not as high as the very top or more of the glass), you’ll be all good. Cost you a few dollars at most.
