Mercury 650 Pee Hole - Volume of water?

Just got my 1975 Mercury 650 fired up after 13 years. I replaced the impeller because the old one hadn't been maintained the entire time I owned the boat. I see water coming out of the area of the pee hole, but not exactly coming out of the pee hole. I assume a clamp or something came loose, but I can't really see exactly where the water is coming from. I guess my biggest concern right now is if this is enough water circulating through to be good? I will obviously see if I can fix it permanently, but I was more concerned about the volume of water. Does this look good?

Thanks

Water jacket gasket could be leaking.----Most of the cooling water goes out with exhaust.-----Comes out at the prop.

Dirt dobber could have made a nest in the outlet. Follow the hose back to the source...probably exhaust manifold water jacket. Pull the hose off and run the engine at idle I'd say shooting straight out the back, hose and cowling off, maybe 4' and strong, not spewing.

A Harbor Freight Infrared, non-contact thermometer costs about 30 bucks. You shoot the water jacket cover at the rear of the block with that and you know instantly how hot it is.....with the engine idling and warm enough to get the thermostat to open, the temperature will be between 120 and 150F depending on the Tstat opening temp. Once on plane and the popoff opens (if equipped) the water jacket will cool to 5 to 10F over water ambient. The over temp alarm sensor on my engines is set to go off at 195F for a reference as to how how hot Merc. feels is too hot for your engine.
