I was wondering if anyone could tell me what size prop to use? I know I know youve said it too many times but i have a 12p on it now. it goes great to 3/4 throttle then it just revs up. (im new to boats but catch on quick). I took the prop to the shop and they said it was in great shape and not rung. Does anyone else have a similar setup they can advise me on.. Also my Mercury doesn't want to idle in the water and dies when it feels like it (mainly wot). Can someone please help me out with some info? Im fixing to pull the boat apart and start a restoration but i would like to get the outboard performing good first.
The guy I bought the boat from said it needed points. It is a 76 model 650. The boat is a 14' trihull walkthrough.. thanks Oh yeah.....I am really using the boat for family fun and cruising and would like to reach 35 or 40 mph..thanks again:confused:

The dying part sounds like carburator and fuel problems, if you are lucky you might get away with a carb adjustment, otherwise, it will involve removing the carb for thorough cleaning and reinstalling a new carb kit. But first check the fuel pump and the filter in it, see if it's filthy, if so get a new fuel pump kit
