Mercury 60hp efi 4 stroke outboard engine oil capacity

My owners manual tells me my engine oil capacity is 3 quarts. After changing my oil and filter and running the engine for a few minutes, my oil dipstick shows oil half way up the hatched area of the dipstick, not to the full mark. Is there a problem or is that where the level should be? TY

If you checked, was it was higher after the change but before starting the motor?

Starting would drop the level a little because the filter filled with the new oil. As long as it's in the cross-hatched area it's fine.

Thank you. That was my concern. I didn't check it before I started it because I knew it would drop.
