Hi All,

I Have two 60 hp 2 strokes (Think 2012 model) on a Rubber duck. They started first time every time. I Took them for a service and tested them when I got it back. I Didn't test that when you put it into gear that it actually goes in.

Took the boat out, both engines start first time. The problem I had is with one of them. When you put it into gear it does go into gear without any noise or sounds. When you accelerate it, it does not have power, low revs and does not go. This engine was perfectly fine before service. Both props still 100%. Full service done.

They are basically brand new with about 100 hours on them

What can be the problem?

Without the ignition on, put in gear and manually turn prop...is it engaged ? If so it might be a bad prop hub, have saw brand new ones that don't work, so check that out. Have to ask...what is a rubber duck ?? Been around boats for over 60 yrs, never heard that term !!

Wait. You took your boat in for service and it came back with a problem, and you come here looking for answers? I can't understand that! Only the guy that screwed it up needs to be trying to figure out the problem. This is crazy!

Check the throttle linkages. Make sure the carbs open. make sure the spark plug wires on on properly. You may want to take it back to the mechanic, who seemed to mess it up, and find out exactly what he did.
