Most carbs start at 1 1/2 turns out from closed. Be extremely careful when you close (screw in fully) that screw as it's brass and conical and if you screw it in too hard you can cut a grove on the cone which makes setting up almost impossible. After that setting, if you don't get the engine to light off and hold rpms at idle when you shift into gear, you need to open it up a little more at about 1/8 a turn at a time till it will do as I said. Final test is goose it in gear and it takes the throttle. If not, open a little more till it does.
