Mercury 50 hp 2-stroke 3 cyl, serial number look up

We bought a little boat and it came with a 50 hp Mercury 2 stroke, 3 cylinders.
The document says the serial number is 9458062

I have a couple of photos:


The little plaque where the serial number was written on is faded out you can't really tell anything that was there before. We need to replace this plate for legal reasons and we are kinda lost about it.

I can't find much relevant information, such as the model number, maybe a service manual, tips, whatever.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Your motor is a 1986 80 hp , and manuals can be bought for it here on Iboats or thru Mercury Marine. Factory service manuals are best and can at times be found o Ebay. JMO

Are you sure it's an 80 hp unit? The case says 50, and the document for the boat is rated at (I think) 37.2 kw which is roughly 49.8 hp...

That s/n is for a made in Belgium engine and comes up as:

50 50 3-cyl 9452344 9469199 1986 Belgium

It is indeed a 50 hp motor. My finger must have been in to big of a hurry and hit the wrong key as my brain was thinking ahead. Sorry for the wrong info and thanks for the correction.
