mercury 4cylinder removal

have the four rear bolts removed cant get it to seperate from flywheel housing is the housing suppose to come out with it or what # on tag reads 4873356 i think its a 77 not sure, mated to drive # 2730901 got this # from a cylinder shaped part on the inside transom has two wires on it and cable which goes to the shifter linkage any way how do i remove the engine first photo is cylinder thing; second photo is of what iam trying to seperate to take engine out my manual iwill get as soon as positive motor id

Howdy,


Did you remove the stern drive first?

You should be removing the front mount or unbolting it from the mount below, then, flywheel housing is unbolted from the transom plate and it all comes out together. (after you remove the drive)

drive is out, front mount removed, fly wheel housing has one bolt on both sides correct, do these bolts have nuts on under it, i tried removing they just kept spinning possibly stripped thanks for your interest removed motor took oil pan off it was a brand new engine that has 0 hours that seized up shame on him i loosened all the bearing bolts got it turning some what but its still real hard to turn need some advice on whats best thing todo or check next
