mercury 40hp efi won't start

hello

i'm new to boating- and to this forum. please help me out with this

i bought a used mercury 40hp 4 stroke efi (2006). the previous owner run it twice about 15mins apart on the first day i came checking it out. all was good
a week or so later, i went to see it again and the demos (same as 1st time) all smooth too.

the motor sat for 2 weeks before i'm done mounting it on the hull. now everything is hooked up. turn the key, it cranks, water pump works. but it does not fire.

i clean the fuel filter, then clean the high pressure fuel pump. still the same scenario.

what should i do now? (

you have put the plastic lanyard key in the kill switch?

problem solved, it's the VST, cleaned up and it now runs fine. thanks alot
