I have a 79 Mercury 402 40hp twin cylinder, I do not believe it has a distributor but it has a stator. I do not have a key, I am not sure if the engine runs. Does anyone know how to hotwire the engine. I can turn the engine over by disconnecting the wires from the switch and connecting the white and red together and jump the silenoid but I get no spark at the plugs
