any body know the difference between the oem heads and hi performance auto heads??? ... i have a external crack in the head and I am looking at replacing it I thought about jb welding it but don't really want to

Any salvage yard or auto machine shop should be able to point you in the right direction. The heads have a casting number (it's under the valve cover) that signifies a number of things particular to a specific number of applications. Like where it is drilled for accessories.
