Mercury 240 EFI problems

Dear all

I?m the happy owner of a SeaDoo Challenger 2000, the inboard engine is unfortunately damaged (blown-up crankcase and destroyed crankshaft).

Could anyone please support me regarding rebuild questions?

I have two possibilities:

1:
Which engines fits to the M2 Jet drive? Is it only the already installed Mercury 240 EFI PowerHead engine or can other engines be installed at the M2 Jet drive without major adaptions?

2:
Which engines can be used as spare part engine if I only need new crankcase and crankshaft.
Can I use "smaller" engines like 150hp, 175hp or 200hp (all 2.5 liter)?
Is the crankcase and crankshaft similar at EFI and DFI engines?

I really hope that someone can support me regarding these topics, it is difficult to find skilled people in Denmark.

Looking forward for a nice summer in Denmark

Best.

'bout tha only thing that "won't work" is tha outboard crank.. sport jet has ta have a "sport jet" crank.. it has more splines (output end) than tha outboard crank... but on tha good side is thats tha only difference in tha cranks............

sport jet exhaust divider has ta be used but will fit any production 2.5.
