I searched & found this old thread about these problems, and mine is identical. My question is are there kits available to fix this, or just use an ethanol proof high pressure hose as PontoonboatFun did? I am concerned about the crankcase being full of gas & oil, too - any suggestions on after-draining actions? What a pain - I used the green StaBil at double the recommended concentration based on the local Merc dealer's suggestion, and still got screwed by Congress & the lobbyists... From now on, ethanol free gas, and I don't care what a pain it is to get it (not to mention $$).

Wow, the silence is deafening! Anyway, Mercury has a new replacement hose which the local Merc dealer mechanic says is improved (thickness & type of plastic/whatever) and should be at least ethanol resistant, more so than the original hose. I'm going to try it & see how it goes.

In 2007 Merc still didn't get the E10 thing figured out?. Fuel in the crankcase on a EFI 4-stroke can get there via a faulty fuel pressure regulator, seriously leaky infector(s) or an engine with a serious over-propping issue as well as running too cool.
