Hello all. I'm brand new here.
My 1975 Mercury 200, 20 hp outboard motor goes forward in reverse, and reverse in forward.
The boat is new to me and today was the first time I had it out. I replaced the impeller before I put it in the water because I didn't know what kind of shape the old one was in. Evidently I must've screwed up when I put the lower unit back on and misaligned something.
It seems to be perfectly happy running forward in reverse and vice versa but I'd rather get it right. I pulled the motor off and have it sitting in my garage. Can someone explain to me what I need to do once I pull the lower unit back off to align the shifting right please?
