I'm working om Merc 75hp 3 cylinders with no spark.
Where can I find Ohm readings spec for stator and triger.
triger has 4 wires going to inside : brown -white, purple-white/black
what resistance should be?
You can find the Resistance readings and everything you need to know by using CDI Electronics online T/S Guide. Here is the link below. http://www.cdielectronics.com/troubleshootingguide/ It depends on if your flywheel has bolted in magnets or not to determine the resistance on the stator. You can find it all starting on page 101.
Resistance values of stator would be 3,250 - 3,650Ω on Blue to Ground and 75-90Ω on Red to ground if OEM Trigger would be 800-1400Ω from the Brown,White, and Purple to the White/Black
Check to may sure the kill lanyard is hooked up and drop the blk/yellow from switch box and retest with plugs removed. If still no spark it usually the stator or switchbox.
I have a similar problem on my 95 Mariner 90HP engine.... Are the resistance numbers for the stator the same? I have looked at CDI Electronics and have not found resistance readings, just voltage readings, some of which I can't check because I do not have the proper tools.
blue cable was broken just few cm from stator outlet. now is fixwd. stator blue to black is 6000 Ohms.
I send CDI switch box to repair shop. they fixed cdi switch box and now i got sparks on 3 cyl.
i run motor but i can hear thicking sound from top cylinder.i dont know if its normal
