Dear Forum, I own the above Mercury outboard, OB302485 serial number. I installed a new trim sender and a new Quicksilver trim gauge. My question is when the ignition key is in the on position and the motor not running the gauge reads the correct trim position on the scale. When I turn the key to the off position the trim gauge needle goes to full trim up position. Is this normal?

Thinking back to one of my old work boats I seem to recall it doing that. That was a 99 or 01 four stroke 90.

Mine just shows last position of key on I think but probably depends on gauge You wouldn't want to power your gauge up with engine off, it would run your battery down.
