i never had this boat running. but previous owner said it just need carb work and ran last year.

i pulled the carb off (3 of them). it looked like sumone already rebuilt the carbs had a new needle in it so i ended up not replacing anything, was going to rebuilt. so i just ended up cleaning it out. some of the screws i couldnt get out to clean and the weldge plate i didnt know how to remove.
this is my first time.

i manage to put everything back in and i couldnt get the motor to start. cranks great and has spark. the fuel is what im worry about. when i spray starter fuild the engine seems to fire just alil, had alil smoke come out but then nevers start. the more starter fuild the better it sounds to start. but still never start.

so i began pumping more fuel in and on the enrich valve pressed a button for 5 to 6 secounds and tried to start. nothing.

i just wanted to see if their was fuel in the carb so i over pumped the line till i saw fuel come out of the carb. it came out where the pipe points up.

i then hit the trim just to see if fuel was coming out and it was.

their is no kill switch.oh and the idle screw i screwed all the way in and about 1/8 out. i tried 1/4, 1/2, 1/8 etc.

and i also tried putting the throttle half way still wont start. the vent on gas tank is alil open.
is their anything esle i can try.

i might even buy new carbs if i know its the problem

Initial setting on the carb idle mixture screw is 1-1/2 turns out from lightly seated. It should start at that setting. Set the cold start lever all the way up, pump up the carbs and hold the choke button down, while you crank. If it doesn't fire and start you may have other issues. Post back compression test results and spark test results.

im getting a compression tester today. will post that in a couple of days.

their is no choke. or cold start lever.

on the throttle handle theirs a throttle button to push in that lets me open the carb and start. if that button isnt pressed and i have it in foward it wont start. is that the choke?
whats the start lever.

i will try the 1 1/2 turn out from all the way in.

Your control box may not have a fast idle lever of you can push the pivot button in the control arm for remain in Neutral and still move the arm to open the throttle.

The choke or enrichener is activated by pushing in the key.

The stacked 6's like a LOT of fuel to start.

Get rid of the starting fluid, there is NO LUBRICATION in ether and you will dry the bearings and cyl's to the point of damage requiring a total rebuild. Use a spray bottle with pre-mixed fuel.

Level the trim, pump the primer up firm, open the throttle about a third, turn the key on an push IN and hold it in for 2 -3 second, begin cranking while keeping the key IN.

Once the motor fires release the key but be ready to momemtarily bump it in again if the motor falters and attempts to die.
