Mercury 188 HP I/O Hesitation and Stalling

I just bought a used 1975 sea ray with a 188 horse power motor. The motor starts right up and runs fine under all conditions for about 1 hour then it starts running rough. It feel as if the motor is not getting fuel or the motor is not tuned correctly. If I acclerate the motor stalls. It will start right up again but if I try to accelerate it will stall again. Any thoughts on the issue?
