I just bought a '98 Sea Rayder F-16xr with twenty hours on a Mercury SportJet 175XR2. I had it at the lake yesterday and rode it for about 10 minutes, and I went up to the dock to talk to a few friends. When I cranked it back up I just got on a plane when the continuous warning beep went on(Overheat). I got a tow to the ramp and upon further inspection today I concluded that the intake grate was not clogged. I hooked up the flushing attatchment and figured out that water was not flowing throughout the manifolds. The water comes out the intake grate, exhaust, and the nozzle. I have little knowledge of jet engines, but I am curious if there is a thermostat that controls water flow throughout the manifold. I appreciate any help.
