Handle shifter turns the shift mechanism but does not drive the shift rod down far enough to lock into reverse. Noticed that the lower cowling was raising up when I shifted to reverse. Bushings hold cowling were worn. They are now replaced but problem continues. When shifted into reverse the notched carrier pushing the shift rod does not travel far enough for the spring to drop into the reverse gear notch. I can reach down and push the shift rod down manually and then it drops in solid. Otherwise, putting engine in reverse just causes the shift rod to bounce and clatter and the motor provides no reverse thrust.. I replaced this lower unit in May, 2015. Any ideas????
