Greeting,

I have a problem in flushing my Mercury 150hp SeaPro Outboard engine using the Flushing connector which is in the engine, and also I have tried:
- DC water pump 12v 7.7L/M with 25 PSI
- DC water pump 12v 7.5L/M with 160 PSI
- City water hose

None of the above success.

after I started the pump for maybe 2 minutes it stars to flow from the propeller side only but not from the pee stream.

I have tried the tilted & Vertical position.

Please help I am using the engine without flushing it and its a problem keeping salt water inside.

Thank you,
Yousif

Welcome aboard.

Is the motor running while flushing? Many motors only flow through the tell-tell after the thermostat opens.

160 PSI water pressure? Is the motor leaking water like a sieve yet? Is this what the "problem keeping salt water inside." comment means?

Stop doing the 160 psi on it before you wreck something. If you have a lot of salt build up get a garbage can and some salt away and let it run. Is your motor a 2.5 ltr block if it is they will not flow out of the tell tale until the thermostat opens.

Thank you for the fast reply.

The motor is not running while the flushing as recommended "mercury manual".

((Many motors only flow through the tell-tell after the thermostat opens.))
so is it important to let the water goes through the thermostat in order to do the 100% flush especially I am in salt water?
or just enough if I see the water comes out of the prop and side hole? please advise.

Sorry, my keyboard flipped the text :) I meant to say "is it wrong if I didn't deliver the water inside thermostat while flushing or is it fine?

Thank you for your time.

Yes :) is it? I meant to say is it safe if I didn't deliver the water to the thermostat while flushing? because the thermostat won't open if its cold or below 120 F degree.

No, my engine is brand new less than 10 hours of work, but I am wondering how to flush the engine 100% without keeping any salt inside it?

How do I know if my engine is 2.5 ltr block .. Its Mercury F150HP Fourstrock Sea Pro.

Just follow the flushing procedure in the manual after every trip. The thermostat area is being flushed whether it's open or closed. SeaPros are made for work in salt and have corrosion prevention built into them.

Since it's a new motor, you could ask the dealer if you're doing it right. The Mercury website has a lot of information. One is a link to a flushing video. This is for a Verado, but your SeaPro is similar.

Thank you for your help.

Will contact the dealer for double sure.
