They are still available form Mercury. If you post your engine serial number I can give you the part number for them. They are about $4 each.

Your engine is a 1500XS and the main jet is 0.082", part number 1399-3518. If you want to get them on-line try mercruiserparts.com or Mercury Marine direct (mercurymarine.com) and go to the 'shop'.

Hey Chris,

How did you determine that motor was an 'XS'? Do you have access to a Merc database?

For example, the chart I have would suggest it could have been a 1977 E, EL, ELPT or a 1978 XS but I cannot distinguish which without knowing more details about the motor.

Just curious.

Hey AMDrules,

I used the parts catalog look-up, not the starting serial numbers. The non-XSs finish at 4868647, according to the parts catalog.

Chris...........

jims3000,

What size are the jets you removed?

Cheers..........

Jim,

Why do you think they need replacing?

Re: mercury 150 jets

after nearly 20 years of running fuel through them they probably need changed not saying their is something wrong with them just doing a carb rebuild and would like to replace everything.on another note i have done plumming work for several years and water running through copper pipes eat away at the inside of the pipe same may go for jets gas going through the hole may make the hole bogger after awhile.my theory anyways.
