Hello All,
I need some help troubleshooting my alarm sound. I have a 2002 Trophy 2002 FF with the Mercury 125 HP saltwater series outboard.

Problem is, when I turn the key to "ON" position, I don't here any pre start beep. Researching tells me to disconnect the tan/blue wire at the engine and ground it to the engine. Doing that, I now have a long continuos beep that does not stop until i turn the key back to the "OFF" position.

Any help is a appreciated

Here's a picture of the wire that I disconnect. I grounded the end that came from the main wire harness.

Is the kill switch in the "Run" position? If it isn't there will be no pre-start beep. At least that is the case on my '04 EFI.

Come to think of it, the kill switch may have been in the off position as I didn't want to inadvertently start the engine while testing out the system. I will have to double checks do put it in the "RUN" position and see if I get any pre start sound.

Alright, tried it again with the kill switch in th "RUN" position and still no beeping of any kind.
So if it will sound when grounding the tan/blue wire, does that simply mean that one of the two wires that is connected to the wire that I just ground is not grounded properly or shorted out?
