I have a ? about the engine.
The engine would turn over by hand so nothing frozen I spayed a little oil in the cyls and turned it over with starter first reading
1 90
2 130
3 130
4 130
5 130
6 130
So I sprayed some more oil and turned it over with starter I did this a few times new readings

1 140
2 155
3 160
4 155
5 155
6 150

The engine is a 1971 mercury 1150 according to my compression tests is there anything I should worry about

Those numbers suggest that you have a good engine, ahmincha, but you really need to run her up to temp and burn off the oil to get reliable numbers.

New impeller for Christmas would be nice and install it before you fire her up. How long has it been sitting ?? Fuel lines, pump, primer bulb etc may be in need of replacing as well. Compression numbers look good.

The engine sat for approx. 6 yrs in indoor storage My plan was to replace all them things plus carb rebuild. Anything I need to know before I start I do have a manual

The motor could use a decarb as the #1 is still lower and the rings could be stuck from carbon. Be sure to use Sea Foam in the fuel to help clean up the carbon and varnish that might be leftover when you fire it up. JMO

It might be wise on doing some mechanical checks to make shore she gets you back to the boat ramp. Drain your gearbox and top up with fresh oil.
Make shore the dizzy bearings are good so your timing belt doesn't break.
If your not getting a good stream of water coming out of your pee hole then it could be corrosion under the spark plug water jacket cover,Just needs a good clean out. What oldman570 said is very important, its such a disappointment when they break down and you need a tow.

As stated I do plan on doing all items you guys recommend and I will start posting here soon as I am first rebuilding the boat itself first then on to the engine just wanted to see what I was working with and if I need to look for a engine I see that number 1 is a tad low so I hope after I get it up to temp the # even out
