From what I understand from a very small amount of information, the 2 stroke 4 cylinder Mercury 115 of the late 90's is identical to the Mercury 125 of the same era with exception to carb differences. I have no idea as to the answer to this question, but I do have a 4 cylinder late 90's 115 and I would love to gain a little more power from this engine if it is a simple bolt on part or adjustments. Does anyone know what the differences are with these two engines and can the 115 be modified to get the addition 10 horsepower?

According to Mercury specs, in 1997, both engines weigh in at 348 pounds, so the weight is identical.

Thanks,
Brad

If you can get your hands onto a mercury owner manual you may find out the differances. I know they do 9.9-15hp manuals..

Would the entire carb assembly need to be upgraded from a 125 or is it something that can be modified when I rebuild my existing carbs?

Thanks for the replies,
Brad

ouch!!!!!That's the price you pay play though .LOL.
Good people to deal with though, I purchased a new trim unit from them at half price around $400 I think it was and other stuff,I had better luck calling and speaking with them on the phone.

word of advice if anyone buys those (or any other used 2-stroke carbs)-

Change out those fuel lines. It may save yourself 2 or 3 carb removals to clean the crap out of the jets and orifices...
