I have a 78 115 merc that the water pump was not working. I didn't notice it till the enging locked up (seized) it ran about 4 minuts till then. I let it cool and it fired up fine. i then repaired the pump but now it seems to have a fuel problem. When i open it up it is ok for a few seconds then seems to run out of fuel. I tried pumping the primer at the same time and that doe's not seem to help.i have rebuilt the fuel pump but i seemed ok. I pulled the plugs and everything seems healy there. Is there a chance that this motor is still ok? Has anyone locked an outboard up and found that it still worked ok after cooling off? help please! Update i have now done a compression test and all cyls are 125 to135.
